Calling Health Practitioners in the Moretonhampstead and Chagford Areas

Healthy Futures – Tuesday 11th November 2014 at St Andrew's Church, Moretonhampstead

Calling Moretonhampstead and Chagford health practitioners!

Moretonhampstead Action Group for Sustainability are helping to host a public meeting and talk about sustainable healthcare on Tuesday 11th November at St. Andrew's Church, Moretonhampstead. We aim to make the evening accessible to as many people as possible, so we are offering refreshments and free children's activities in The Yard Youth Club.

About our speakers: Dr Niall Macleod G.P. currently practices in Heavitree and has inspiring and innovative ideas about sustainable health care. Emma Bagwell is District Matron and manages the planning and provision of care for patients in the community.

The intentions of the talk are:
• to make a connection between the wider context of NHS Devon and what is happening in Moretonhampstead
• to provide information about the transformation of the Moretonhampstead Cottage Hospital into a Health Hub
• to encourage debate about the balance of preventive and acute healthcare within the NHS and our communities
• to get everyone interested in how this could affect the choices we make for the Health Hub
• to obtain feedback about what people want to see as part of the Health Hub.

You are invited to attend to hear the guest speakers, take part in the Q&A and, if you like, you are very welcome to arrive from 4:45pm and bring some information (for example, leaflets and display books) about your practice for a display table during the event.

The evening is planned as follows:
5pm Doors open at St Andrew's Church – all welcome for refreshments. Choice of seasonal veggie soup available for a £1 donation.
6pm Emma Bagwell: Introduction and update on the Health Hub
6:15pm Dr. Niall Macleod: Sustainable Healthcare
7pm Q&A

Free children's activities will be provided in The Yard at Green Hill (a neighbouring building to the Church) from 5 o'clock to 7:15.

If you would like to help us further please tell others about the evening.
Also, please let us know by the 1st November if you would like to display information about your practice so we can accommodate everyone. Email magsmoreton@gmail.com or get in touch through our Facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/pages/Moretonhampstead-Action-Group-for-Sustainability-MAGS.
Many thanks
