Helping Residents to
Keep Down Costs when Fuel Prices are Rising
MAGS carried out approximately 50 energy audits for
households in the area and gave people free independent advice on how to save
money through insulation and switching to renewable energy sources.
This service is still available and an appointment can be
booked through Katheryn Hope 01647 440855.We have also produced a booklet describing the renewable
energy sources that are feasible for people living in Moretonhampstead. The
booklet gives an idea of costs of installation, the financial benefits and
local suppliers. If you would like a copy there are some in the entrance to
the library, at the Parish Council Office and from the number above.

Workshop: Revamp Restyle Refashion
We transformed discarded garments into glorious and
glamourous apparel; created bags from swatches of material; and re styled
favourite items of clothes to give them a more contemporary look with help from
Angharad Barlow a talented local costume designer who trained at the London
College of Fashion. Our workshop came partly as a response to the disturbing
short film White Gold from the Environmental Justice Foundation about cotton
production in Uzbekistan, the world’s third largest cotton producer.
